Project Himalayan Hope is an organization dedicated to improving the life and preserving the beautiful culture in Ulleri, a remote village in Nepal located between Tibet and India.
Our current focus is on building a new school and hiring qualified teachers in Ulleri to provide the children in the area with means of obtaining a complete education. Currently the school system in Ulleri starts at first grade and ends at fourth grade. We are going to expand that to start at kindergarten and end at the twelfth grade.
Here are some pictures of Ulleri village. This little village Ulleri lies in one of the main Annapurna trekking routes in Nepal. The closest town, Pokhara, is almost one day of walking from here. Since there is no road built for cars to go, horses are used for the main transportation throughout the year. There are about 100 stone houses in this village. People grow their own food and live simply with what they have.
